.………….the subject matter is not as important.”
So says my friend, Priscilla Fossek, the hand and heart behind these works.
Each time I see the latest iteration from her prolific brush I am astounded.
Today she gave me the gift of time – time alone with her in her studio. A time of connecting as women, mothers, artists, humans.
We agree that one of our favorite four letter words is WORK. “Like anything else we do well, painting requires time. For me that time is heavenly.”
Priscilla personifies a quote I love from a Zen poet:
A person who is a master in the art of living makes little distinction between their work and their play, their labor and their leisure, their mind and their body, their education and their recreation, their love and their religion. They hardly know which is which and simply pursue their vision of excellence and grace, whatever they do, leaving others to decide whether they are working or playing. To them they are always doing both.
