Hosted by Eric and his always lovely and welcoming staff, Laura, Sheila and Carly, First Thursday at Rooms & Gardens Santa Barbara, was such fun! Enjoying Garrett Speirs latest work and that of his wife, Ginny Speirs while sipping local wine and sampling amazing toffee…need I say more?
Ginny loves to cook and in her words is “enamored with the produce in California”. The remnants of her charming southern accent give away her Alabama roots……….speaking of this painting I heard her say ‘bates’ – can you just hear the oh so civilized pronunciation of ‘beets’!!!
Following her passion and talent since age 7, when a self-portrait won first place in show, Ginny studied art, earning both BFA and MFA degrees.
She works with oil on board, and loves to do small pieces.
Portraying iconic south coast images, is, in my opinion, Garrett’s forte. His works allow me to see and appreciate my home surroundings in a fresh way
