Anticipation…

an-tic-i-pa-tion defined by Webster:  expectation, looking forward to, confidently, or with pleasure; expectation, hope

After the consuming intensity of the Christmas season, as the new year approaches, thoughts turn to possibilities and plans…

and design inspiration!!!

Recently asked my take on what’s new in the design world for the coming year, I settled on the word connection.   I see  the influence of  global awareness connecting us to good stewardship of our world and our personal resources; self-awareness connecting us to how we want to live, what makes us feel comfortable;  connection with nature for the Master Designer’s inspiration; connection to our own piece of the world – light, climate, topography…; connection with a designer who can facilitate the process of connecting the client to their project in all these ways – resulting in their own self-expression.

To me as a designer, all these connections have an underlying theme:  simplicity

‘the universe loves simplification and beauty’ -Albert Einstein

‘making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity’

-Charles Mingus

‘simplicity is the ultimate sophistication’ -Leonardo Da Vinci

Anticipating a simply wonderful new year – my wish for you as well!
