Rooms and Gardens, Santa Barbara

High on my list of priorities as a designer in Santa Barbara:  patronize locally owned businesses.

Rooms & Gardens, owned by Eric Voulgaris,  makes that goal easy to achieve.

When stepping off of State Street into the store you will be greeted by one of these lovely, friendly, and extremely capable ladies:

Laura – store manager, Sheila or Carly

-yes, they are great fun, as well as being consummate professionals in the home furnishing business-

R & G has remained on the cutting edge of design by moving ahead with the nuances of the interior fashion industry.  While maintaining a distinctive style, the store offers traditional furnishings with an edge, which mix easily into and enhance any decor.

Meanwhile back at the ranch…episode 4

URBAN rANCHING WITH A SMALL ‘r’

Lest you think that we live on unbounded acres of land……although we technically are a ranch:  Webster’s definition: “a farm or ranchlike enterprise that raises a single crop or animal”, ours is definitely in the lower case.  We raise lemons and belong to a co-op which harvests and sells our crop.  Small and urban help to define who we are and what we do – we have limited acreage and are five minutes from the supermarket.  Once home, however, we feel as though we live in the country……….
