Santa Barbara architecture and design…
…an acquired taste???
Always a pleasure to visit the home of a friend/client; especially one with great pieces and a great eye for design!!!
A bit of the exotic; a nod to another time, another place; always appropriate in any decor!

As a designer, rarely have I seen a painting that has the potential to drive an entire project.
Although this photo shows only a portion of the piece, my heart flutters…..
In my dreams I would design a contemporary cottage with plastered white walls, dark, metal-trimmed glass doors and windows, hung only with sunshine and starlight;
open to oaks and lemon trees, gravel paths, mustard fields and mountain views.
Upholstered pieces slip-covered in white Belgian linen,
paired with minimal accent colors drawn from the rich hues in the painting,
and scrubbed pine, white ironstone, well-used vintage linens for everyday use.
in my dreams……….
thank you to Erika Marie Carter for the dreamy inspiration
and to Porch for introducing us
