Christmas at Crossroads, of course, included a visit to Miss Vicki at Homepieces in McKinney- always on the cutting edge of casual home design…her unerring eye captures the latest trend…cutting boards!
the tales these boards could tell…
perhaps of the aroma of freshly baked bread…
or of the succulent heaviness of aged fruitcake…
of the hands fashioning their design,
or of the journey bringing them to this particular place;
now looking for a new home and new tales to tell.

W Ranch, in Texas, is our home away from home.
A beautiful main house and grounds,
a ‘penthouse’ in the barn,
and loving family members – what more more could we ask…….??? Well, just a little more…….the opportunity to design the interior of the living space in the barn, and a hand in the remodel of the kitchen in the main house, not to mention carte blanche when it comes to my favorite activity: rearranging. Add in some vintage finds from Homepieces in McKinney, and other hand-picked pieces, and you have near perfection!

No visit to Texas is complete until I have been to Homepieces in McKinney! Always on our itinerary when visiting family in Dallas, Vicki Woods’ shop never disappoints – filled with vintage treasure, gathered and curated by the amazing owner. Just off the main square of this quintessential Texas town, she gathers a tempting array of architectural fragments, vintage furniture and collectibles, ironstone, and repurposed objects – all with an eye for fabulous patina and great design.
A number of her pieces have found their way into our home………!!!
