Zig Zag…the backstory

Marie, at home in Santa Barbara with two small children;  her husband John called to duty in World War II,

Marie Gorham began creating Zig Zag’.

At war’s end, Lieutenant Commander Gorham returned to their historic adobe home in Santa Barbara.

A third child was born; together John and Marie finished the concept book as an original work of art.

More than 60 years later their oldest daughter and her husband published ‘Zig Zag’ – dedicated in loving memory to her parents.

not only a charming story for ‘children’ of every age, but a treasure illustrated with wit and flair, particularly appealing to those of us who live in and love Santa Barbara.

The Court House, Old Mission, and  El Paseo Restaurant, among other local landmarks, appear as backdrops for the adventures of Zig Zag

Postcard from Santa Barbara…Viva La Fiesta!!!
